Professionals seeking clearer, more effective workplace communication or grant-writing support

I understand what it’s like to move between fields, genres, and audiences, and to translate complex ideas for different readers. I’ve worked with students pitching grant-funded community projects, scholars reshaping academic articles for wider audiences, and, as a faculty union leader, colleagues developing clear, strategic communications during periods of institutional change. I know how vulnerable it can feel to bring early ideas to the page, and how powerful it is when they finally connect with the right audience.
I hold a PhD in Literature with a concentration in Science & Technology Studies, and I’ve spent 20 years teaching writing at Wellesley College and the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. In those roles, I taught professional and academic writing, grant writing, public writing, fiction and storytelling, working with writers across disciplines and at many stages of their careers. Through partnerships with the Learning by Giving Foundation and Boston-area nonprofit organizations, I supported grant development and mission-driven storytelling, and I currently partner with emerging nonprofits nationwide on website communication, sponsorship and educational resources, and grant strategy – helping organizations articulate who they are, what they do, and why it matters.
